“ Great omakase experience. From start to finish each dish was had prepared right in front of us and quickly served giving it a profound freshness. The drink service and sake were on point and a great deal. The food was a bit expensive but it was worth splurging. The only difficult part was finding it, using the pictures and asking around eventually got us there. ”
“ A Michelin-recommended sushi place! I tried their Sakura Menu — a 16-item experience. It includes starters, 9 fresh nigiri (all fish!), 2 sashimi, chef’s choice dishes of the day and dessert. I love their nigiri. The delicate sauces added a whole new layer of flavor. The rice was perfectly seasoned and held the fish just right. If you are celebrating birthday, they will treat you a special birthday surprise that made the celebration even sweeter. Oma is dinner-only, so be sure to reserve online in advance—seating is limited! ”
“ Delicious omakase. Standouts include the smoked salmon at the end with the shiso flowers, quail egg, and seaweed, the light layered butter cookie with the matcha ice cream, and the slightly charred sushi like the sea bream. The Wasabi that was served with the sashimi was refreshing and pleasantly salty. Loved the condiment. Left the meal super full. Slight comments: The sushi rice was a little too mushy for me. I'm not a fan of gold leaf on my food. Personally, I'd rather get more fish. ”
“ This sushi experience exceeded all my expectations. Without a doubt, it stands as some of the best sushi I've ever had in the United States. What truly set it apart was the impeccable freshness of the fish, consistently served at the perfect temperature. Nestled in a cozy, intimate setting with just six seats, it offered an intimate dining experience that made it even more special. The pricing, considering the quality, was surprisingly reasonable. Though we opted for the middle-tier menu, in hindsight, I regret not going for the top-tier option, as it must have been an even more exceptional culinary journey. If you have a passion for exquisitely fresh fish, this place is an absolute must-visit. ”
“ Hands down best sushi I’ve had. Really glad I tried this experience. It was so good I forgot to take pictures of a majority of it. Got the 24 piece experience and wow was a I stuffed but I managed to eat every piece because it was that good. Everybody there was so nice too, they will take care of you. ”
“ I ate at Oma SF Station for the second time last week with my wife and two adult daughters. Like our first visit, the experience was outstanding. We have traveled extensively in Japan and are very familiar with traditional, small sushi bars. Oma SF Station is an excellent US version of a small Japanese sushi bar. It is located in the Japan Town mall tucked away in obscure corner of the mall. Only 8 seats. We stay at the Kabuki Hotel next door several times a year so we find ourselves wandering through this mall and always notice Oma. During the day you will see large Styrofoam containers of fish being delivered. This is always a good indication that you will be having very fresh fish. We had 4 in our party. 3 of us had the Tsubame menu (12 pieces) and 1 of us had the Sakura menu (16 pieces). The chef managed the mixed menu perfectly. As this is a small sushi counter, you get to sit directly in front of the chefs and watch them do their magic. The chefs were very engaging and entertaining. I love interacting with sushi chefs. As for the food.....it was outstanding. Very fresh, great variety and lots of creative preparations. The set omakase menus were really great. I was also able to add a few ala carte items at the end just to top off. The chef and host were also very knowledgeable about the sake offerings. We enjoyed two different bottlings. If you want to experience a Tokyo style small sushi bar experience with outstanding food (in the United States), give Oma SF Station a try. We will be back on our next visit to SF. ”
“ I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday with my husband at this restaurant. We got seated when we got there and ordered our bottle of sake. They had a small selection but we asked for a recommendation since we aren't familiar with sake. The bottle they offered was perfect for what we wanted. Each dish was fresh and flavorful. By the end they asked if we wanted anything ala cart but the omakase we chose was plenty enough. Would recommend coming here for a date. ”
“ The best food Ive had in 2023! Everything was wonderful. The rice was beautifully seasoned and cooked. The variety of very fresh fish was amazing. The hostess was kind and attentive, and the sushi chefs were awesome and informative. I loved every bite and would 100% recommend! I cant choose my favorite because they were all so good. ”
